OV10D Bronco Desert Storm

Academy 1/72 Aircraft Series & Small Scale Planes : 1680 OV10D Bronco Desert Storm. The OV-10D was the most notable version of the"Bronco", aside of the initial OV-10A (ACADEMY item no. 1665). The A was successfully flown in Vietnam in the late sixties. The D version featured sensor equipment in its nose consisting of infrared systems, laser targeting capabilities plus 20mm cannon upgrades and stronger powerplants. A number of 18 aircraft were converted between 1979-1980. USMC OV-10D were in action during Desert Storm in 1991, mainly for surveillance at night.
