The TBD-1 Douglas Devastator, infamously, made it’s name at the Battle of Midway in June 1942 when 29 Devastator’s attacked four Japanese Carriers. All were destroyed either by anti aircraft fire from the Japanese ships, or by attacks from Japanese Zero’s.
