All of the mouldings are free of "flesh" and exhibit a level of detail that surpasses the earlier FW-189 releases. The cockpit is well proportioned with decals for the dials on the instrument panel, although there are no decals for the radar operators control panel. The seat belts (for all three positions) are in photo-etch and look more realistic than those moulded on plastic.
The main gun bay (for the four 20mm canons) is well detailed and the guns themselves feature some very fine detail. When all the interior sub assemblies are in place, the cockpit is very well detailed and there are quite a few decals to add to the interior besides those for the instrument panel. GreatWall Hobby have included an update sheet to show where to place the nose weight to allow the P-61 to sit correctly on it’s under carriage.

The nose radar is included although this will not be seen unless the nose is left open. The wings feature very nicely recessed panel lines and rivets and have photo-etched air brakes that can be positioned opened or closed. The engines are in nine parts and feature photo-etched wiring. The engine exhausts can be shown either open or closed. When positioning the under carriage doors care should be taken as the instructions in this area are a little "busy". The markings are for two aircrafts, one in Olive Drab based in Belgium and one in Black based in Burma.
