She was at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, and she was a participant in the last battleship vs. battleship battle in naval history - the Battle of Surigao Strait, 24-25 October 1944. She survived World War II and went on to serve her country until she was decommissioned on 14 February 1947.
