Revell Scale Model Aircraft: R04013 Ilyushin IL86.  The IL-86 developed by the Ilyushin Design Bureau flew for the first time in December 1976 and entered into commercial service in 1980. It was the first wide-bodied aircraft built in the Soviet Union with seating for 350 passengers. The IL-86 reaches a cruising speed of 960 km/h, has a range of 4,600 km and a maximum take-off weight of 208 tonnes. A little over 100 aircraft were built. The first operators included Aeroflot and China Xinjiang Airlines. This latter had 3 IL-86s in operation before they merged with China Southern in 2003. Armavia Airline is based in Yerevan in Armenia and operates 2 IL-86s on international air routes.
