Based on the proven design principles of the 209 Class of submarines, plus some of the innovative features of the 212A class, HDW developed the 214 Class. It was eminently suitable for a broad spectrum of applications, both in shallow and deep water areas.

  • the submarine can be built in the submerged or surface version
  • conning tower platform with optionally raised equipment (A-periscope Otronik mast, antennae, radar mast, exhaust mast etc)
  • decals with draught markings for 3 versions: HDW-test version, Greek Navy and South Korean Navy
