Squadron / Signal SS4014: U.S. Heavy Cruisers in Action Part 1 - Warships Number 14.  Restrictions on battleship construction imposed by the 1921 Washington Naval Treaty led the US to develop heavy cruisers. 17 were completed between '29 & '37. Losses at Pearl Harbor forced the US to rely greatly on them during the early years of WWII. Over 100 photos, many B&W line drawings, 3 colour cover paintings, 6 colour profiles. 50 pages.
