Italeri 1/72 Scale Model Aeroplanes: IT1104 ME-323 D1 Gigant. The ME 323 may be considered as one of the largest piston-engine driven aircrafts built. It is the motorized version of the giant glider ME 321, which should have eliminated the starting and landing problems of this hauge plane. The 198 units, built from the end of 1942 through April 1944 were largely employed in Tunesia and on the Eastern front, where they were practically all sacrificed in supply action for the embattled German forces.
